Advertising during FIFA Women’s World Cup

New Zealand is set to co-host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ from 20 July to 20 August 2023. As this is classified as a major event under the Major Events Management Act 2007 there are specific advertising rules that businesses need to follow from now until 19 September 2023, when the protection period for the event ends.

Key Advertising Guidelines

One of the crucial points to remember is that there are certain words, phrases, and emblems that are not allowed to be used in your advertising from now until 19 September 2023 unless you are an official sponsor or partner.

Here are some of the words and phrases:

  • FIFA
  • FIFA Women’s World Cup
